Youth Ethnobotany Foraging Workshop

Eight Week Ethnobotany Foraging S.T.E.M. Program

This program is designed for youth ages 6 to 17 years old, focusing on the exploration and understanding of ethnobotany through foraging and processing plants. Over the course of eight weeks, students will engage in hands-on activities that reconnect them with nature and educate them about the plants used by the Mississippi Mound Builders.

Program Structure

• Foraging Day: Students will spend one day each week foraging for various plants in local natural areas.

• Processing Day: On another day, students will learn how to process the foraged products, including preparation and preservation techniques.
